50 Cent Supports Kanye's Decision to Tour

In a recent interview with the AP, 50 Cent supported Kanye's decision to keep touring right after the sudden death of his mother, Dr. Donda West.

"That's really an unfortunate situation and I hope he can work his way through it," said Fif. "It's good to see him actually touring: You can work your way back into a comfortable space where you can deal with those situations."

As previously reported Dr. West died after she stopped breathing; numerous rumors speculate that the cause had something to do with complications from recent plastic surgery.

To 50, the situation was reminiscent of the death Lloyd Banks' father, who died when Banks 50 encouraged Banks to focus on his work rather than be paralyzed by grief. was on tour.

"I was telling him, 'You need to go back and do what you need to do,' and he thought maybe I was a little insensitive," said 50. "But I can definitely understand how that's a huge loss, and how that would be."

Although 50 and Kanye were embroiled in a much-hyped Soundscan battle, fans shouldn't be surprised that 50 offers his condolences to his competition, as he never had ill feelings toward 'Ye.

Suge Knight Involved In Biggie's Death?

After years of speculation about Marion "Suge" Knight's involvement in the Notorious B.I.G.'s murder, the Death Row Records label head may be called to testify at B.I.G.'s wrongful death trial, according to an Associated Press report.

The suit is against the Los Angeles Police Department brought by the family of the deceased Brooklyn MC. According to the report, US District Court Judge Florence Marie Cooper will allow Knight to be added to a list of defendants—which also includes current and former LAPD officers—based on new evidence.

Knight maintains his innocence.

T.I.'s Lawyers Seek to Suppress Evidence

It seems that good fortune may be shining on T.I., who is currently awaiting trial in a federal weapons case for allegedly attempting to purchase guns and silencers from an undercover agent.

On Monday (Nov 19), the rapper's team of attorneys filed motions to suppress evidence seized from his vehicle, as well as statements he made when he was arrested on Oct. 13, according to the AP.

T.I's attorneys claim that the officers had no warrant, consent or probable cause to search his vehicle; in light of this, the defense wants statements that the rapper made to be thrown out of the case because they may have been obtained improperly.

No response from the judge has been made, though an email from a federal prosecution spokesman stated that he would address it in court.

If convicted, T.I. could serve up to 10 years in prison, as well as face a fee of $250,000 on each weapons charge.

Currently, T.I. is on house arrest until the trial begins.

R. Kelly Boots Ne-Yo Off "Double Up" Tour

Despite a pending statutory rape trial, R.Kelly's Double Up tour (which opened Nov 14 in Georgia) was one of the most anticipated concerts of the winter. Originally, the line-up featured singers, Keyshia Cole, Ne-Yo and J. Holiday as opening acts. But earlier this week, Ne-Yo was abruptly dumped from the show.

"Let them tell it, I was removed from the R. Kelly tour because of contractual agreements not being met, but that's absolutely false...I believe it was because the first few reviews of the show, people were talking more about my set than his and I don't think he liked that too much," Ne-Yo tells BET, "...I'm gonna keep doing what I do, because it's obvious that's what was hurting him."

Ne-Yo's publicist has released the following cryptic statement regarding Ne-Yo's release:

"Yesterday, Shaffer Smith aka Ne-Yo was informed that he was being dropped from the rest of the R Kelly tour after delivering two sensational performances. Entertainment reporters, music critics, bloggers, fans, and concert goers all agreed that Ne-Yo's performances brought the heat; but maybe it brought too much heat.

Soulja Boy Debunks "Superman Dat Hoe" Rumors

In the midst of controversy surrounding an internet rumor, Soulja Boy—the teenaged chart topping rapper who struck gold with the infectious single "Crank Dat"—recently spoke with BET.com to clarify the meaning of the dance that took him from obscurity to stardom. Urban Dictionary’s website defines the term as the following: “when you ejaculate on a girls back then put a blanket on her so when she stands up the blanket sticks therefore making her look like she has a cape.”
Not only does the 17-year-old rapper deny the Internet definition, he says the haters are too late, as the dance is old news. “‘Superman,’ ‘Crank That’ [is] old. You can tell whoever wrote that was intending to stop my shine. The way they wrote words…it was professionally typed. Ain’t nobody doing nothing like that. At the end of the day, they just came too late with the rumor.”

Lil Eazy-E Says Lil Wayne is a "Fake" Blood

It’s no secret that Cash Money heads’ Lil Wayne and Birdman represent a certain “gang affiliation;” seen in every photo-op, video shoot and television appearance wearing red and sporting red bandanas. As some might let this slide in belief that it’s a “style” or “fashion statement,” one Compton rapper is taking offense.

Apparently, Lil Eazy-E (son of the legendary Eazy-E), is sick and tired of the “fake gangbanging” occurring in hip hop these days.

“First of all, let me start off by saying much love to all my Crips, Pirus and Bloods out there that have lived and shed blood for what they believe in and represent; but all this extra fake gangbanging going on is really getting out of hand. I’m seeing this nigga Baby on 3 songs Blooding and Li Wayne ‘soowooping’ at the awards. Enough is enough. This don’t have nothing to do with them Blooding; if they was Cripping I would have the same reaction,” Lil Eazy-E said via a statement to DubCNN.

“Those of us that are true to this need to stand up and say enough is enough. I got homies who are in jail, fighting for their lives and homes who are RIP behind this thang. And for those fools who are clowning and making a mockery of us; I’m telling you no more … This is part of the problem as to why the West is not winning right now. T.I PROCLAIMS INNOCENCE THROUGH VIDEO:


In spite of the publicity around the case, the rapper cautioned fans and other viewers of the video not to believe everything they see on screen or in print.

"I just wanna tell everybody man, don't even believe every thing you see on the news, don't believe every thing you read in the papers," he said, looking straight into the camera.

On house arrest pending the outcome of the case, T.I. has been hard at work, penning songs for a new CD, tentatively titled Paper Trail. According to an MTV report, the name of the album stems from T.I. writing his rhymes on paper for this album. Like many of you, I've just read the reports that Kanye West's mom, Dr. Donda West, passed away Saturday night in Los Angeles. While there is speculation as to the cause of death, what prompted the 58-year-old woman's sudden passing has not been confirmed.

I have contacted spokespersons from his label and have not yet received a response.

T.I withdraws Thanksgiving day dinner request

"The defendant is asking this Court for the very kind of special treatment to which this Court made clear the defendant was not entitled," federal prosecutors wrote in their response to T.I.'s request, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

"His constant requests for more visitors, recent complaints about 'delays' in the approval of visitors, and requests for maintenance workers and a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with 'family' show that the defendant does not ... appreciate the generosity of the Court in granting his release...."

Rapper Shawn 'Jay-Z' Carter is not bothered by what actor Denzel Washington makes of his new album American Gangster - it is the actor's 23-year-old son he cares about. The 37-year-old was so inspired by Washington's latest movie American Gangster; he recorded an album of the same name and dedicated it to the film's director, Ridley Scott.

In their first go-around on the charts, Disturbing tha Peacefam Playaz Circle debuted at No. 27, selling 26,100 copies of their debut album Supply and Demand, according to Nielsen's SoundScan.

Three spots down, West Coast rapper Baby Bash checked in at No. 30 with 25,800 copies sold of his album Cyclone.

Three 6 Mafia affiliate Project Pat debuted at No. 47 this week, selling 17,200 of his sixth album, Walkin' Bank Roll.

Jay-Z and Partners Buy Artful Dodger Clothing Line For $15 Million Cash

Jay-Z and his partners Iconix Brand Group Inc. have purchased UK based clothing company Artful Dodger for $15 million cash.

"Artful Dodger is an incredible brand with a lot of room for growth and Scott Langton is a visionary designer," Jay-Z said in a statement. "They represent what's next and new in fashion and we are glad to have both the brand and Scott as a part of our family."

The purchase was made under the company Scion, a joint venture between Jay-Z and Iconix Brand Group Inc.

Artful Dodger is a high end brand founded by designer Scott Langton and is sold in boutiques and speciality shops throughout the US and UK.

In early 2007, Iconix Brand Group Inc. purchased Jay-Z's Roc-A-Wear Clothing for $204 million in cash.

Camron Comes out of Hiding?

After virtually disappearing from the public eye this summer, Dipset front man Cam’ron is back and is giving his two cents on fellow Diplomat Jim Jones and the reason for his absence.

After releasing a home made video clip to YouTube warning rival 50 Cent that it was going to be a "hot summer," Cam went into exile. The Harlemite told radio personality Miss Info that around that time, his mother had several strokes, resulting in her being paralyzed on her left side. The rapper then apparently moved his mother to Florida and arranged for her rehabilitation and therapy.

"Even when I had my mom situated, she had the help she needs, the physical therapy, everything was right-that was like a month ago-I still laid low, because when I come out it’s gonna be done it right," he said. "But I just sat back and bugged out at how everyone else was acting. I heard all the rumors, mad felonious s–t, fake s–t. And I would tell n—-s, my moms just had a stroke, and they’d be like ‘Oh, ok, so are you still coming through?’ Fam, what is wrong with you?"

Jay-Z is on course to achieve his 10th No. 1 album...

LOS ANGELES (Billboard) - Rapper Jay-Z is on course to achieve his 10th No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, based on early sales estimates issued Wednesday.

"American Gangster" -- a disc inspired by the current No. 1 film at the North American box office -- sold about 179,000 copies Tuesday, according to preliminary Nielsen SoundScan data.

It was followed by R&B singer Chris Brown's second album "Exclusive" (107,000), and reigning champ the Eagles' "Long Road Out Of Eden" (89,000). Garth Brooks' new "Ultimate Hits" claimed the fourth slot, with 61,000.

Final data will be released next Wednesday.

If Jay-Z locks his 10th No. 1, that will tie him with Elvis Presley for second place among artists with the most chart-toppers. Only the Beatles have more, with 19.

Jay-Z's last album, 2006's "Kingdom Come," opened atop the Billboard 200 last fall with 680,000 copies.

Tattoo Clue in Jam Master Jay Slaying?

NEW YORK (AP) -- The gunman who killed hip hop icon Jam Master Jay has never been identified, but he has what could be a telltale characteristic - a tattooed neck, according to a witness.

Randy Allen noted the mystery gunman's tattoo in a story Sunday in the Daily News, marking what the newspaper called his first extensive interview about one of the hip hop world's legendary unsolved slayings.

Jay, whose real name was Jason Mizell, was shot dead in his Queens studio on Oct. 30, 2002. Despite a lengthy investigation and substantial reward, the case has been stymied by uncooperative witnesses, investigators say.

R&B singer TREY SONGZ has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Can't Help But Wait star - real name Tremaine Aldon Neverson - was among a group of men taken into custody on Sunday (04Nov07) following the incident in the parking lot of The Hippodrome, where Songz had performed the previous evening (03Nov07). The shoot-out left one man injured and he was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
